A big thank you to Bolton Council for choosing It's Just For Me to plan and feature in their campaign!
Over the past few months, we have collaborated closely with this organisation to delve into the pressing issue of young people and injectable treatments.
Unrealistic images on social media and unethical marketing by some practitioners are leading those under 18 to consider these treatments. This is deeply concerning, as it puts them in vulnerable situations with potentially serious health risk.
Working closely with this organisation over the past few months has been an eye-opening experience. We discovered that Bolton is facing significant challenges with young people being persuaded into having injectable treatments through unrealistic social media images and unethical marketing tactics. Worryingly, in conversations with young people interested in these treatments, we found that none of them knew how to stay safe. In fact, they were unaware of basic distinctions, such as the difference between anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers.
As Julie and I have a connection to Bolton—we were born and grew up there—and we runs an aesthetics aftercare business dedicated to promoting safety in the industry, this issue resonates with us. It's Just For Me not only focuses on effective aftercare solutions but also on advocating for safety and responsible practices in the aesthetics field.
This campaign is especially relevant to us because it addresses a great concern of public safety in the aesthetic industry and aligns with our commitment to ensuring that young people make informed and safe choices.
This week, we are advocating for young people to wait until they are 18 before undergoing any injectable treatments and we are aiming to educate them on making informed decisions.
Join us in this important campaign by sharing our posts and creating your own content about why injecting people under 18 is not acceptable.
Let’s work together to protect our youth and promote safe practices.
